Yoga in the classroom

Yoga brings more mind body connection, has very positive effects on well being and mental health and can support our students in calming and self regulating as well as grounding and being alert, relaxed and open to learning.

Five minutes yoga at the start or end of a class can really improve learning and retention of information as well as improving class dynamics.

Yoga for teachers is a great way of disconnecting from the events of the day and allowing ourselves to reflect in a non judgemental way and reconnect inwards.

This 5 day course (15 contact hours) we will explore some yoga home practices to keep teachers refuelled and look at how we can integrate short yoga asana (movement) and pranayama (breathing) practices to help get the best out of the students.

This course can be done in conjunction with the Mindfulness and meditation in the classroom course to gain a Yoga Alliance Profession UK accreditation.

You may be eligible for Eramus or other CPD funding.

This course will run in the Future Learning centre in Athlone.
